Autos Correspondent (Level 1 Journalist)

New Posted 25 January 2024 | Remote | Reuters

Reuters is looking for an Automotive Correspondent to join our global team, paying a particular focus on the U.S. market. The automotive sector is undergoing a historic change with the transition to electric vehicles and the effort to develop self-driving technology. Tesla has proven an EV leader but faces immense competition from rising Chinese electric-car producers with an eye on exporting. Legacy automakers, meanwhile, are spending billions of dollars to catch up as the whole sector races for the next battery breakthroughs to make EVs more affordable.

As an Automotive Correspondent, you'll take ownership of the U.S. auto market beat and the companies that define it, including Tesla, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler-parent Stellantis and other major automakers. Stories will cover everything from technological innovation to corporate strategy, government policy, branding, safety, labor and the environment.
Reporting to the Detroit Bureau Chief, you'll work with a team of auto correspondents and editors in the U.S. and globally to provide exclusive news and insight for investors, industry insiders and general readers who rely on Reuters news through media partners and our own platforms.
