Reuters is looking for a reporter to join our global team covering transportation focused on the market that is defining the trend in the push to electrification: China. China accounts for most of the world’s electric vehicle battery production and the largest share of EV sales. The competitive stakes are high with BYD emerging as a national champion in electric cars, upstart rivals like Nio taking share and established brands, including Tesla and the global, legacy automakers looking to protect share in a market they had dominated.

The beat Is China’s auto market and the companies that define it, a focus that should take in everything from technological innovation to corporate strategy, government policy, branding, safety, labor and the environment.

This reporter will work with a dedicated autos correspondent in Shanghai and the global team of Reuters reporters and editors focused on mobility to provide exclusive news and insight for investors, industry insiders and the readers who rely on Reuters news through media partners and our own platforms.
