Reuters is looking for a superb journalist to lead our coverage of the most important political, security and diplomatic stories across Europe.
Based in Brussels, this person will manage a small team of journalists and work with Reuters’ larger network of correspondents across the region to deliver scoops, analysis and investigations into the most important stories about Europe’s defence, politics and international relations. Stories their team might cover would range from diplomatic discussions surrounding Russia’s war with Ukraine and NATO’s change in the face of that conflict to how European countries are managing their political and economic relationships with China.
The successful candidate would be expected to lead the team from the front by delivering their own reporting and ensuring Reuters has a first-class source base in Europe across the political, security, diplomatic and intelligence spheres. He or she will work closely with our Belgium bureau on coverage of the European Union, bridging the gap between what’s decided in Brussels and political realities in the region.
