Senior Correspondent, Broker Research

New Posted 2 January 2024 | Remote | Reuters

Reuters Bangalore is looking for a Senior Correspondent to lead its Broker Research team, which is responsible for Reuters equity research coverage for North America, EMEA, and Latin America.

The successful candidate must inspire trust and confidence from senior managers, build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, steer the team through broker compliance-related issues and be able to wield influence and troubleshoot when problems erupt – all this, while leading from the front in building and maintaining a wide circle of sources/contacts in the market.

The candidate must be an exceptional snapper and reporter, with strong news judgment and a flair for innovation. The person must also be able to stay calm and focused under extreme pressure, while effectively multi-tasking on the job – from dealing with broker compliance issues and liaising with internal/external stakeholders to snapping, reporting, prioritizing news, and handling client queries/complaints.

S/he/they must also be a self-starter who can quickly understand the technology behind Editorial tools and explore ways to leverage it to help the team stay ahead of the competition.

In addition, the Senior Correspondent will have the following key responsibilities:

Meet quality targets for accuracy and speed, improve team performance, refine operations and suggest improvements
Build and maintain market contacts and sources to enhance coverage; manage effective news coverage coordination with colleagues in North America, EMEA and Latin America
Deliver strong team performance in a positive environment through regular performance assessments and timely feedback
Train new staff and work with Editors in Bangalore and the Bangalore Training Editor to ensure continuous coaching for existing staff
Develop a keen understanding of customer needs and uphold the accuracy, speed, context, and freedom from bias that our global readership demands
