Rolling Stone is hiring a full-time Senior E-Commerce Editor to support its growing affiliate business at RollingStone.com.
The Senior E-Commerce Editor will work closely with our VP of Commerce to lead and execute a performance-driven editorial strategy while overseeing a team of in-house writers and freelancers. In this role, you will manage an ongoing content pipeline, including publishing and promoting daily shoppable listicles, deal posts, and reviews. Content categories may include and are not limited to — streaming, tech & electronics, fashion, beauty, health, and fitness.
The ideal candidate will have experience producing and editing e-commerce content and a demonstrated interest in several product categories. This role is best filled by an Editor who is extremely tuned into topical events and trends and is also product-knowledgeable. Experience with affiliate networks, related tools, SEO content strategies, and content data analysis is required.
The incoming Senior E-Commerce Editor will have an expansive list of ideas for content pitches — including product reviews and roundups that perfectly fit the RollingStone.com audience. This person must also be able to create eye-catching headlines and copy that embody general SEO best practices.
Responsibilities:
Assign and oversee publishing for 40+ e-commerce stories a week on RollingStone.com
Write and produce 6+ pieces of topical shoppable content roundups per week
Lead strategy for updating existing performing and/or SEO-optimized content, ensuring latest product launches and trends are reflected for posts that continue to capture traffic
Monitor sales and content performance and ensure notable points are included within weekly e-commerce revenue reports (to be populated by direct reports) and updates to leadership
Create and track product reviews funnel, ensuring writers receive products to review, and that reviews are published per embargos and deadlines
Work closely with the editorial team to ensure SEO and editorial best practices are met
Requirements:
Minimum of 4-5 years of professional experience in e-commerce journalism
A proven track record of executing a data-forward editorial strategy with proven results
The ability to work independently, extremely detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Having successful and current relationships with key PR people in the market is a plus
Daily experience working within a CMS (familiarity with WordPress, preferred)
Experience with affiliate marketing/affiliate networks a plus
Proficiency with Photoshop or other image editing software a plus
Typical wage range: $100k - $115k
