We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Copywriter to join our team. This is an entry-level position, where you will learn and grow within the copywriting team. The successful candidate will be a skilled and creative writer, demonstrated through experience including coursework, volunteering or community groups, or personal endeavours.
Our copywriting function is housed within the Content and Creative Team. We focus on bringing complex ideas to life in an engaging and clear manner, so that everyone, whoever they are , can take action to combat the nature and climate emergency.
The Content and Creative Team is part of our Strategic Communications function within the Digital Technology and Communications Directorate. Your colleagues will be experts in copywriting, multimedia, social media, strategy, planning, traffic management and UXD. As a team player, you will work collaboratively to deliver outstanding content.
Responsibilities
Writing for a range of audiences and channels, using brand tone of voice.
Bringing complex ideas to life in a clear and engaging manner.
Working collaboratively to solve communications challenges.
Essential Skills, Knowledge And Experience
Excellent writing skills and basic understanding of editorial and marketing copy
Understanding of different audience needs.
Experience of different communications channels, including web, email and social media.
Team-working skills.
Communication skills. You could be taking a complex idea and distilling into copy that means people both understand it – and take action for nature.
Proactive approach and happy to pick up work from others in the team.

This is a permanent full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
