The Role: We are seeking a full-time digital content editor to join S&P Global Ratings in our Tokyo office. You will edit research articles in Japanese, helping to strengthen the way we explain our rating actions and discuss credit trends. You will also help to transform complex data and analytical research into articles and social media posts that have a strong visual focus. You will have the opportunity to ghostwrite articles if requested, and craft compelling headlines and media releases that get our message heard.

The Team/Business:
S&P Global Ratings Editorial team consists of about 100 staff in offices around the world and is part of our Analytical Business Operations & Controls division. We operate in an exciting, diverse, and dynamic environment. You will work closely with other editors and translators, rating analysts, and operations specialists in Tokyo, frequently liaise with colleagues in the wider Asia-Pacific region, and participate in projects with other team members globally.
Responsibilities:
Pay strong attention to detail and processes to ensure error-free Japanese-language articles under tight deadlines that comply with regulatory standards.
Apply the principles of writing for the digital age through good headlines, brevity, and highlighted opinions that clearly tell a credit story.
Communicate effectively in Japanese and English with local and overseas colleagues.
Create graphics using standard graphics software tools (e.g., Excel, Visio, Plotly, and Illustrator).
Ensure articles conform to global publishing standards in terms of format, style, and branding specifications.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor's degree holder in digital journalism, communications, economics, or a related discipline.
Excellent written and verbal Japanese communication skills (native level).
Strong-to-excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Good interpersonal and decision-making skills
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
Sound knowledge of terminology and concepts used in financial markets.
Experience post-editing machine translated content is a plus.
Proven interest in developing digital, desktop publishing, and data visualization skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio) and Adobe Illustrator.
