The Role: The Role: You will create content including in-depth analysis/features, breaking news and digital media such as blogs, podcasts and videos focused on the energy transition, namely sustainable hydrogen, voluntary carbon markets and renewable energy. You will work with the pricing team and analytics to develop original insightful content focused on these key topics, as well support coverage of low carbon production of oil and gas (scope 1 emissions).

The Team /The Business: The global energy news team works closely together in what can be a fast-paced environment. You’ll report to an EMEA news head, but work closely with the other editors, the regional head of energy news along with other news and market reporters/editors.

The Career Opportunity: This is an opportunity to contribute to Platts’ Energy Transition coverage. You will be in a position to create strong content and have the opportunity to cover regional industry events, help on graphical content and collaborate with global news and market reporters.

Responsibilities

Develop Energy Transition Content: As a writer and editor, you will ensure that hydrogen, carbon and wind/solar news you file is timely, unique and relevant. You will be responsible for creating content and presenting it in a way that has maximum impact. You will monitor news flow from competitors, prioritize daily content and help conduct forward planning of event and story coverage.
Content Presentation:

You will be required to think innovatively on how best to present the content to make it impactful and reader friendly. This could involve the use of infographics, maps, charts, tables etc.

Content Generation:

You will be required to collaborate with regional colleagues, market reporters and other members of the energy news team to generate and drive content. This could be in the form of further analysis of developing news and/or writing features.

Market engagement:

You would be expected to develop and maintain productive relationships with a broad base of key industry sources.

What We’re Looking For

Excellent English language writing skills
Ability to produce clean, well-rounded copy within tight deadlines
Ability to track key energy transition news themes, generating unique content such as interviews and event/data analysis
Strong content presentation using infographics, maps, charts and tables
Ability to engage with industry players and build a network of trusted sources
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of hydrogen and carbon markets preferable
Data analysis skills desirable
Visual storytelling and infographic creation skills preferable
Languages: Spanish, Portuguese or French a plus
