The Team: The Fertilizer price reporting team is the world’s leading Price Reporting Agency (PRA) and provider of market information on a diverse range of markets linked by their use in agriculture. The fast-growing team - currently 15 people globally – is dedicated to providing market-leading insights into all major fertilizer markets.
The Impact: The global fertilizer team, spanning seven locations in four continents, publishes more than 300 price assessments, many of which are used as benchmarks by the market for trade negotiations and physical contracts. The successful candidate will work as a market reporter, publishing news, commentary and price assessments, as well as identifying and implementing ways of improving our coverage of the market.
What’s in it for you: This role provides significant growth opportunities to the successful applicant, who will gain exposure to decision makers in the industry and within S&P Global itself. The role is diverse and exciting, involving contact with stakeholders across the industry, regular news writing, and producing internal research on the fertilizer market for S&P decision makers. The role will typically also involve some degree of domestic and international travel to industry events and meetings.
Responsibilities:
Reporting on daily, weekly, and monthly developments in the Fertilizer markets, which include nitrogen (ammonia, urea, nitrates) and PKS (phosphates, potash, sulphur and sulphuric acid).
Publishing timely and accurately-assessed price assessments, using S&P’s public methodology and specifications.
Engaging with the industry both virtually and in person, representing the business externally and seeking industry feedback on how our content is used and how it can be improved
Proposing and implementing improvements to our market coverage, whether through proposing changes to our price assessments suite, or expanding our range of commentaries and written news coverage
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Skills Required
Intellectual curiosity about how markets and industries work
Ability to learn quickly, as the role involves successfully assimilating a large amount of information on a diverse range of topics and then using it to make decisions

Strong communication skills, as the successful candidate will be required to engage with market sources on a daily basis to gather information and clearly communicate the decisions that S&P has made
Ability to work as part of a team, as this role is highly collaborative and involves building strong and resilient relationships with people in this team and other teams
Exceptional time management skills, as this role involves managing multiple deadlines for different processes
Personal resilience, as the fast-paced and public-facing nature of this role means that it involves a degree of pressure which the successful candidate must be able to manage
