S&P Global Platts is looking for a Associate Editor for the Renewable Certificates Pricing team. The candidate will be responsible for covering the publication of daily price assessments for renewable power markets. The associate editor will act as a market reporter for Platts Energy Transition activities both internally and externally via speaking engagements and thought leadership.
Renewable power is central to achieving global decarbonisation goals. This role offers an opportunity to be part of this work in this essential build out.
The associate editor will be part of the team that produces commentaries, news and digital content, and price assessments related to regional renewable energy certificate markets to help customers make informed trading and risk management decisions.
This associate editor will produce coverage in new markets such as IRECS, expand coverage of existing markets in North America and liaise with colleagues in Asia.
Team-work will be essential, liaising with colleagues across the Energy Transition sectors of carbon and low carbon hydrogen and ammonia and with team leaders in related markets such as power.
The Team:
The Renewable Pricing team analyses market activity and data and incorporates market knowledge into developing and publishing price assessments that will be used by clients in a variety of ways. They core of the role is building working relationships with market participants to enable the team to report on burgeoning spot market prices and the factors moving prices. The team is global and collaborative and engages with the market through various mediums, including commentaries, stories, podcasts, blogs, and videos. It is vital the team works across other content sectors such as power markets, generating fuels, and other energy transition markets such as voluntary and compliance carbon.

Serve as an internal and external ambassador for Platts renewable offerings and ambitions
Work in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to Platts Editorial Standards

We are looking for someone who is curious about energy markets, able to work within deadlines, and can handle multiple tasks. They should be responsible and accountable, and work to create a positive and collaborative work environment. It is vital they are adept at market engagement and comfortable representing Platts Renewable Energy including wind, solar and GOs externally in numerous ways.
Basic Qualifications:
1-3 year energy industry experience such as a reporting, writing, or analytical background
Understanding of commodity markets
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in finance, journalism or related sciences
Market knowledge of power sector
Price assessment experience
Understanding of renewable power generation
Comfortable to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Willing to lead but also work as part of a tea
