Reporter, Renewable Energy and Climate

S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking an experienced reporter to cover the fast-changing renewable energy sector.

The successful candidate will skillfully balance beat reporting and enterprise features with a focus on renewable energy finance, solar-energy supply chains, ESG trends and other developments that impact the energy transition.

Write clear, concise, and engaging stories that inform and educate our readers.
Use data, analysis and visuals to support your reporting and make your stories more impactful.
Expand our energy news coverage and build readership throughout the industry.
Help drive our coverage strategy for the renewable energy sector.

Cover hearings, speeches and conferences.
Interview executives, policymakers and other key stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years of professional journalism experience.
Strong writing and reporting skills, along with excellent news judgement.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute story ideas.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of renewable energy markets and financials.
Knowledge of international renewable energy developments and trends.
Demonstrated analytical and data visualization experience.

Experience participating in panels, podcasts and other media.

Grade/Level (relevant for internal applicants only): 10
