The Role: We are seeking a reporter to cover the financial services industry with a focus on capital markets, institutional investors, asset management, specialty lenders and regulatory developments at the Securities and Exchange Commission. As part of one of the most high-profile teams in our newsroom, this position would require reporters to cover hot national topics — including meme stocks, SPACs and the ESG movement. This reporter would also need to cover some niche involving banks, such as exploring the latest developments among investors in the space and what non-core businesses banks are adding or shedding. We’re seeking candidates who are passionate about unraveling the complex topics that define the U.S. financial markets and want to use data to explain past trends and point to what investors, researchers and regulators should watch for ahead.
