Food Reporter

The ideal candidate will enjoy having a collaborative working relationship with the rest of the team to ideate and execute stories for the Food & Drink vertical. The food writer will chase and write stories that highlight San Antonio's diverse, vibrant food scene and dig up unique angles that have not been explored yet. Knowledge of the San Antonio and/or Texas food landscape is a big plus, but not required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Write news, service-minded pieces, and features about San Antonio's food and drink scene
Pitch and develop stories and projects for editors
Keep track of San Antonio food news and determine which stories are a fit for MySA
Occasionally make photo requests from restaurants, bars, and other food businesses
Develop an editorial calendar
Track performance metrics using Chartbeat and Looker to determine which stories work for MySA’s audience
