Science and Health Writer

The diaTribe Foundation is seeking a versatile staff writer experienced in reporting on and translating science and medical research and news for a general audience. This is a writing position whose primary duties will involve writing news and feature stories about all aspects of diabetes. The staff writer should have experience in health and science reporting and be comfortable converging stories about diabetes research, medications, technology, complications and nutrition. Having a portfolio of published work is a requirement for this position. The staff writer will primarily produce stories for diaTribe’s flagship publication, diaTribe Learn. We seek to empower our readers with useful, actionable information that gives them hope for a better future, and helps them live happier and healthier lives. Our tagline is “Making Sense of Diabetes.” This is a remote position, but occasional travel to The diaTribe Foundation headquarters in San Francisco is required, as is the ability to travel to a handful of diabetes conferences each year.
