Photojournalist, Investigative Team

Scripps News is seeking a Photojournalist to join our esteemed National Investigative Team. In this dynamic role, you'll have the chance to shoot and photograph compelling stories on location, employing your skills to craft impactful narratives through visuals.

What You'll Do:

Setup, breakdown, and operate television broadcast camera(s) and audio equipment in a live news environment.
Setup and light on-site live shots
Light, shoot, mic intimate interviews
Produce documentary style ENG
Write captions and text to include with photographs and video.
Advise on gear purchases and work with/lead team responsible for equipment maintenance
Utilize in-depth knowledge of LED lighting techniques and successfully implement those techniques to tell set the stage and tell the story in a unique and interesting way
May conduct interviews
Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience as DP, with experience in News
3 years live news network experience

What You'll Bring:

Extensive video production workflow expertise
Ability to multitask, be flexible in approach, and remain calm in a fast paced, deadline driven work environment
Ability to work closely with producers and on-camera talent

Work Environment

Field work
Lifting, carrying heavy photo equipment

Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.
