We are seeking an editor to oversee the reporting/editing of the Seeley Swan Pathfinder. The Pathfinder is a community weekly newspaper in the quaint town of Seeley Lake, Montana. Seeley Lake, flanked by the Mission and Swan mountain ranges, is situated on one of Montana most scenic drives, Hwy 83. During spring, summer and autumn, enjoy birding, wildlife viewing, fishing, camping, canoeing, boating, hiking and golfing. Mountain bikers can explore hundreds of miles of roads and trails, which become a world-class cross-country ski trail system in winter. Snowmobilers can explore over 350 miles of groomed trails. Enjoy the serenity and beauty of this wonderland year-round! The editor should be able to paginate in InDesign. Mullen Newspaper Company offers flexible scheduling, a Simple IRA plan, 4-day 36-hr work week, and paid time off. Veteran and new journalists are encouraged to apply - we will help train the right candidate if experience is lacking. As Editor, you will have a good sense of what makes an interesting angle to a story, to juggle all the moving parts of publications. You will plan, coordinate, review and edit content and decide which ideas should be pursued and which should get dropped in order to meet quality and accuracy standards for The Seeley Swan Pathfinder.
