The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced business editor to research, write, and edit business feature stories for award-winning local news publications, in-flight international magazine and digital channels, online sister sites, and prestigious conference events.

Success in this role will require staying up to date with news and developments in the region and current global economic trends. You will actively build relationships with relevant contacts across the business, Government, and media landscape, and develop ideas for interesting stories that increase engagement and readership.

You will also work with a small, close-knit team to ensure quality content production and media and event sales outcomes that drive business growth.

About You

This role is suited to a business journalist who has strong research, writing and editing capability. Given this organisation engages extensively with multinational organisations and executive level stakeholders across the PNG and Pacific region, professionalism, maturity, exceptional communication skills and cultural sensitivity will be essential to ensuring quality content and readership.

Travel to PNG will be required at least 2 x per year to build strong contacts, client relationships and attend key events. Given the business size, you demonstrate self-motivation, effective collaboration capability and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and multitask.
