We are currently seeking a (Remote) Full-Time –Senior Content Editor: This position can work from any location in the United States.
What You Need To Know
The Senior Content Editor participates in the content creation process for Training Services products. Reporting to the Director, Editorial Healthcare and Professional Provider Programs, they expedite content development while ensuring the content’s quality and adherence to business requirements. They provide substantive editing through the development cycle and collaborate with subject matter experts, editors/writers, and vendors to ensure consistency, organization, readability, and clinical accuracy of content. The Senior Content Editor collaborates with project management to ensure the product(s) meets schedule, specification, and budget requirements. They coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure product goals are achieved.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD (Key Responsibilities)
Assist with conceptualizing content approaches and creating sample manuscript.
Assist with creating content templates.
Write manuscript and scripts and/or providing substantive editing.
Review SME and other reviewer feedback and incorporate edits.
Revise all manuscript and scripts to deliver final manuscript/scripts.
Conduct art and photo research, developing shot lists, and attending photo/video shoots to ensure continuity among components and provide editorial direction.
Review content during the production phase to include media assets, rough cut videos, programmed online course material and print pages.
Perform Copyeditor and Proofreader duties as needed.
Standard Schedule: Monday- Friday Standard business hours.
The salary range for this position is $91,080-$121,440. Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.
What You Need To Succeed
Education: Bachelor’s degree in communication, English, or equivalent field required.
Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Substantive editing, medical writing or copywriting experience for medical publishing companies, health and safety training organizations, pharmaceutical or related fields.
Demonstrate proficiency and experience in the creation of high-quality print and digital products.
Experience in vendor management.
Ability to work with internal business owners as well as external agencies.
Ability to simultaneously manage several projects under tight deadlines.
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Strong teamwork and collaboration required.
Basic computer skills, proficiency in MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Travel: Ability to travel 20-30%.
Essential Functions/Physical Requirements
Must be good verbal and written communicator. Must have very good home-based internet connectivity. Depending on work assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
