Provides proofreading and editing services to the agency for all client and internal projects, requiring high quality and timely delivery of services rendered. Primary responsibilities include ensuring that creative elements in varied media have been built or revised to match work orders and change notices, from copy to codes; and flawlessly catching all errors, including those related to typography, spelling, formatting, and consistency of style and content. Must have ability to quickly learn and apply client brand standards and brand style, as well as trademark and legal guidelines. Should also have the focus and insight to recognize potential errors in fact and logic when they occur. Experience proofreading a wide variety of fast-turn jobs in a high-volume advertising, marketing and/or promotions agency environment preferred.
Core Accountabilities
Checking print and digital promotions/marketing content for correct usage (spelling, basic grammar and punctuation)
Finding typographical errors such as spacing issues, use of wrong glyph, missing or duplicated copy, etc.
Identifying inconsistencies in style and formatting
Reconciling marketing codes and revisions on creative elements with work notices and grids
Maintaining client style, brand standards and trademark/legal requirements
Confirming that creative in multiple languages matches provided documents
Communicating with project managers and account executives to meet client deadlines
Core Skills
Agility to proof and mark up in a variety of formats and media, including Word docs and Excel files, PDFs and JPEGs, PowerPoint and Keynote presentations, studio mechanicals and digital files (web pages, banners, microsites, videos) on Mac platform
Proficiency in online proofing/project management software such as PageProof/Asana or Workfront
Thorough familiarity with use of proofreading marks and client style guides
Familiarity with typography basics and production processes
Superior verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize, manage and efficiently complete multiple projects to meet shifting needs and deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to respectfully offer suggestions and gracefully accept feedback, maintaining a positive attitude and professional manner in all situations
Requirements
3+ years’ experience proofreading/editing promotions/marketing collateral material such as retail display elements (POP/POS), print and digital advertisements, direct mail, catalogs, concepting decks and RFPs
Bilingual/Spanish preferred
Education Four-Year Degree (preferred, but not required)
Must be able to work on-site at our Irving, Texas location a minimum of 3 days per week
