The Senior Technical Writer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the creation, updating, and facilitating the approval of technical documentation. In addition, your role will be responsible for leading the implementation and maintenance of a content management system (CMS) for technical documentation. This involves working closely with Global IT to ensure the conformity of the system, as well as setting up relevant templates, and updating quality documents and training associated with a global system.

This position is part of the Technical Writing Team within the Product Management function > located in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and will be an on-site role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the Technical Writer Team and report to the Technical Writer Manager responsible for the Technical Writing Team both in Newcastle and Amsterdam, to deliver product labeling for medical devices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Create, update and facilitate the approval of technical documentation (e.g.labels, Instructions for Use (IFU), product notifications.)
Lead the implementation and maintenance of a Content Management System (CMS.)
Coach team members with standard work and the use of Technical Writing tools.
Support/advocate team initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of technical content within the Technical Writing team.

The essential requirements of the job include:

Mature project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects with a large number of technical document updates.
Expert level of documentation creation, with attention to detail and consistency.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and able to communicate across various organizational levels.
Working knowledge of technical writing tools such as Adobe InDesign, PRISYM, MADcap Flare

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

People leading and/or coaching experience
Working knowledge of creating and editing XML files using DITA is required as well as experience using JustSystems XMetaL software a plus.
In-depth experience as a CMS Administrator; experience using Vasont CMS
