Our client are looking for a talented SEO Editor to join their team, with key responsibilities that include conducting keyword research, optimising headlines and article content for SEO, monitoring website analytics, and developing and implementing an effective SEO strategy to improve search rankings and drive traffic to their website.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting advanced keyword research to identify relevant search terms and topics
Collaborating with writers, editors, and other stakeholders to optimise headlines and article content for SEO
Developing and implementing a comprehensive SEO strategy to improve search rankings and drive traffic to website
Monitor website analytics to track traffic, engagement, and other key performance metrics – reporting to stakeholders
Use SEO tools to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress
Mentoring SEO editors to ensure best practices are followed and goals are met
Staying up to date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and digital marketing – alongside the ability to spot trends, identify traffic-driving opportunities and communicate those to the newsroom
Attend newsroom conferences and inform editorial with clear SEO-lead insights
Some technical SEO knowledge would be an asset

The Ideal Candidate

Significant newsroom experience
Familiarity with a range of SEO tools (eg SEMRush, Google Trends, News Dashboard)
Sound understanding of Google Discover, Google News, organic search and Top Stories
Be an enthusiastic evangelist for SEO in the newsroom
Flexibility regarding shift patterns (evening and weekends will be required)
