About the team + role
As the Managing Editor at Sherwood Media, you will be responsible for managing the editorial team’s day-to-day, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, timely, and relevant news coverage in the fields of financial markets, tech news, business news, and more. This role requires a seasoned editor with a keen understanding of these spaces, a strategic mindset, experience working in fast-paced newsrooms, and a commitment to journalistic excellence.

What you’ll do
Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy for covering financial markets, technology news, business news, and the culture of money.
Collaborate with the editorial team on news content, longform features, and investigative pieces.
Lead, inspire, and manage a team of editors, writers, and contributors.
Provide guidance on news selection, story angles, and editorial priorities & principles.
Oversee the editorial process, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journalistic standards.
Conduct regular editorial reviews to maintain a high standard of writing and reporting.
Work closely with the newsroom, multimedia, and design teams to enhance the overall reader experience.
Foster a collaborative and innovative environment to bring out the best in the editorial team.
Develop strategies to engage and grow the audience, utilizing social media and other platforms.
Analyze audience metrics and feedback to refine content strategies.
Stay informed about trends, developments, and emerging topics in our coverage areas.
Identify opportunities for exclusive coverage and in-depth analysis.
What you bring
10+ years working in journalism, 5+ years experience in an editorial leadership role, preferably in finance, tech, or business journalism.
Strong knowledge of financial markets, technology trends, and general business landscapes.
Exceptional editorial skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to journalistic ethics.
Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan.
