About the team + role

As Sherwood Media's social editor, you will hold the keys to our distribution channels and collaborate with the editorial team on our strategy and voice across platforms. You will work with the data and operations team to understand what's resonating with audiences and how to achieve scalable and efficient growth in an ad-supported media business. You'll work with Sherwood leadership to define the voice and distribution tactics for our flagship brand as well as our newsletters Snacks & Chartr, and have the opportunity to strategize with editorial and marketing on new product and editorial launches. We're not trying to build a traditional media business – this is an outstanding and rare opportunity to grow our brand and product without a lot of legacy infrastructure. What you’ll do

Build a content distribution strategy for Sherwood Media and its sub-brands (Snacks, Chartr) to promote written editorial content across Meta platforms, LinkedIn, and others
Design and implement a social-first content strategy for our brands with tactics including standard posts and short-form vertical video
Populate social accounts on an ongoing schedule
Engage directly at times with our audience on social platforms
Create assets for social posts and think of inventive ways to present information & drive engagement
Work closely with Product, Editorial, Design, and Data teams to define and measure social and distribution efforts to identify opportunities for growth and experimentation
Conceptualize and implement paid social marketing initiatives to support growth and revenue goals

What you bring

5+ years of social media management experience for a publisher / media brand, high-growth startup, agency, or similar
Experience with media publishing workflows, technology, and tooling
An intuitive ability to understand the crux of a story and distill it into engaging headlines & social copy
Good understanding of the social media landscape and online enough to understand trends and emerging platforms
Ability to navigate through ambiguity

Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood’s equity plan. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
