DuJour is the award-winning luxury lifestyle brand that covers celebrities, travel, food and wine, fashion, beauty, fitness, design and business. Our stories run the gamut: An issue might feature an investigative piece on a socialite’s murder in Aspen, alongside a gorgeous travel spread about an exclusive private island. The magazine, which launched in 2012, seamlessly integrates print, digital and video while providing unprecedented access to over 3 million affluent men and women.

The Art Director role will be a dynamic component of our editorial team reporting to the Creative Director. This self-motivated, creative, team player will work design pages for the magazine and oversee them from the conceptualization stage, through photography (both original photo shoots and photo research) and until the pages close. Digital skills (including rotoscoping and motion graphics) are a plus as we integrate our print and digital team, with design needs that range from digital covers to Instagram overlays.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver designs that surprise, delight and engage readers through strong typography, use of photography, and editorial elements like pull quotes and sidebars.
Drive projects from concept to completion. Be the keeper of the original creative vision while collaborating with the Creative Director, editor-in-chief and other stakeholders.
Deliver work that is polished, meaningful and with elevated design sensitivity under tight deadlines.

Requirements:

3-5 years in an editorial position, preferably in luxury lifestyle or fashion
Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop; knowledge of Woodwing a plus
Deft at working with grids, fonts, typesetting and template guidelines
Ability to work under a deadline and maintain quality standards
Great interpersonal skills, not afraid to speak up and advocate for your design choices

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design or related field.
