The Role
Reporting to the Managing Editor, World News, as a core member of the News and Current Affairs Editorial leadership team you will:
Lead coverage of domestic events with a primary focus on national affairs, including politics, economics and finance, social affairs including indigenous and multicultural affairs.
Inspire, initiate and oversee the production of compelling and relevant domestic content for Australian audiences and amplify diverse cultural and linguistic perspectives.
Play a key role in the strategic planning of locally-based events and issues which meet the SBS Charter.
Be the key contact with our content-sharing partners and other networks.
Assign and manage journalists and camera crews considering SBS’s editorial responsibilities, priorities, budgets and deadlines.
Assign and manage a team of journalists across Australia and manage deployments.
Maintain knowledge of technology for the most-effective and cost-effective production and delivery of news content across television, audio and digital platforms.
