About the Specifications Writer job:

The purpose of your role will be to work closely with the specifications manager compiling and writing technical specifications. To create and maintain product specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and checks to ensure their products meet industry and company standards.

Key tasks:

Carry out accurate and timely completion of customer specifications for launches.
Work closely with NPD to handover all raw material/new product information and ensure compliance with customer standards.
Collating all information required for product specifications on time whilst checking data against systems including trial information, shelf-life testing, nutritional analysis, weight targets and tolerances, allergens, and packaging information.
Assist the technical department with collation of laboratory data, responding to customer queries and supporting with on-site audits.
Review, update and maintain finished product specifications in line with business and customer requirements.
Take responsibility for developing and checking pack descriptions, ingredient declaration and compliance with food guidelines and labelling legislation.
Keep customer folders updated and accurate including internal systems.
Organise and execute lab trials including check raw material availability and request them to supplier, if necessary, lab tests and results elaboration.

About You:

The successful candidate should have a technical administration and/or related specifications background in food manufacturing, working with the major retailers. A degree or equivalent in food science related studies with knowledge of food labelling would be desired. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Work as part of a team well and independently.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Experience in developing specifications within a food production environment.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
Excellent skills with computer software for documentation and analysis.

More details:

The Specifications Writer job is based in Kent and is paying £35,000 to £40,000 according to your experience.

The package includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, cost price products, free eye testing and a contribution towards glasses.

The working hours are Monday to Friday / Office Hours / 42.5 hours a week.
