Sports Reporter

We have a rare immediate opportunity in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho. The beat assignment is reporting on local sports and covering local high school and community sports in the greater Sandpoint (Bonner County) area. You would generate stories, photos, and videos for online, print, and social media editions. We’re in the Pacific Northwest. The site is gorgeous, with four seasons, lakes, rivers, and mountains. It’s a recreational wonderland. Schweitzer Mountain ski resort is under 30 minutes away. It’s perfect for a reporter who is also an outdoor enthusiast. We are part of The Hagadone Corporation. The publishing division includes 16 newspapers in Idaho, Montana, and Washington. This is a full-time position with medical, dental, vision, 401k with company match, paid vacation, and hourly pay (40hrs/week). The person we seek will embrace our company vision and values, work closely and collaborate with their peers on special projects throughout the year, and epitomize integrity and work ethic to build relationships in the community and report the local news. We hope this person is familiar with InDesign, InCopy, and related programs, has a working knowledge of Associated Press style, and understands the daily newspaper environment.
