Reporter or Senior Reporter, Nature

New Posted 4 November 2022 | London, England, United Kingdom; Hybrid | Springer Nature Group

The international science journal Nature is looking for two journalists to contribute to our award-winning coverage of scientific research and policy. We are seeking to fill these roles on a fixed-term basis to cover reporters on parental leave. We are open to applications from early-career reporters wishing to hone their skills as well as more experienced journalists. Successful applicants will be skilled at writing fast turn-around news stories, as well as cultivating sources, digging up scoops and diving into in-depth features. Your articles will be clear, accurate and thought-provoking. You will think of the best way to tell stories, including with data, graphics and images. You will be part of a highly collaborative global team that invests time in editing, sub-editing and fact-checking. Your stories will be published online and in print. What you will cover will depend on your interests as well as the needs of our team. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with an interest in and/or experience of reporting physical sciences (physics, chemistry, materials); climate science (climate change, climate policy), UK or European science policy and ‘community’ issues relevant to the working scientists (publishing, academia, funding, misconduct).
