Staff Reporter

The Vallejo Times Herald is looking for a general assignment staff reporter. Will report on various activities and people within the Vacaville and Solano County community.
Essential Functions
Primary responsibility is reporting at least two byline stories per day
Working cooperatively with our small team or journalists.
Competencies & Skills
The candidate should have journalism experience, AP style knowledge and the ability to quickly compile accurate reporting on a variety of topics. Spelling and grammar skills required.
The candidate should have experience working with various technologies for the position including PC laptops, digital cameras and recording equipment.
Good people skills are necessary for conducting interviews with sources.

Travel: Some required to cover assignments within readership area

Required Or Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in a professional journalism newsroom preferred.
