State Affairs, a digital news site reporting on state legislatures around the country, is in search of an experienced journalist to cover critical news and policy coming out of state capitals across the country.
We seek a journalist who can produce enterprise and investigative stories on state government with a heavy focus on how legislation and decisions impact the lives and livelihoods of average citizens. This journalist is also able to turn around a well-written and reported story on a tight deadline.
State Affairs’ mission is to hold state government and politicians accountable by providing enterprise and investigative reporting that is non-partisan, truthful and impactful. Officials in Washington, D.C., can’t be the only leaders whose actions, votes, spending, and ethics are subject to the civic disinfectant of rigorous journalistic oversight.
