The Ohio Capital Journal is a nonpartisan, nonprofit news organization soon entering its fourth year of covering state government, politics and policy. It is staffed by veteran Ohio reporters and is dedicated to its mission of relentless investigative journalism that sheds light on how decisions in Columbus are made and their impact on individuals across the Buckeye State. Part of States Newsroom, OCJ believes in enlisting and empowering journalists to do impactful, ambitious work. We are seeking an investigative reporter, to be based out of Columbus, who will thrive in a collaborative culture, possess great news judgment, and can demonstrate the ability to develop a beat to create compelling, engaging journalism. If you’re that rare breed who loves to dig through data, create charts and graphs, file public records requests, scour through court dockets, and develop insider sources for tips and leads, we want to work with you.
