Public Media Broadcast & Digital Reporter, Producer, Editor

Use your broadcast & digital journalism talents to help cover our community and train the next generation of story tellers. The Professional in Residence at the Newhouse School’s WAER public media station will produce news content across multiple platforms for this NPR affiliate station at Syracuse University. Under the direction of the General Manager and News Director, you’ll generate story ideas and produce audio, digital and even video stories. This person will also serve as liaison and mentor to students at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. You’ll help recruit, manage and edit reporters, social media content providers and more. The Professional in Residence might also be assigned to teach one course each fall, spring and/or summer semesters at the Newhouse School. The successful candidate will have at least five years of journalism experience across multiple platforms, including audio. Teaching or mentoring experience is a plus. The Professional in Residence is designed to be a two-year experience at Syracuse University.
