FloridaPolitics.com is looking for an aggressive, web-savvy reporter based in the Tampa Bay region to start at once on the St. Petersburg/Tampa political beat, focusing on municipal, county and state issues, and other stories as assigned. We seek the right person to join our growing team of professionals to report on Florida’s always-changing political landscape. Our ideal candidate should have a record of successful relationship-building and be adept at setting a news agenda through sources and reporting breaking news before other outlets. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of experience, as well as the ability to see the assignment as a regular beat. They must be able to write and edit quality, accurate content on deadlines with rapidly changing priorities and familiarity with AP Style. This individual must have superior organizational skills, a working knowledge of local government, and an aptitude for telling compelling stories.
