Position Overview: As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for producing concise and accurate documentation for our software project. This role is project-based and offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact the project's success.
Responsibilities:
Documentation Creation: Develop clear and concise documentation, including user manuals, technical guides, and release notes, for our short-term (approx. 3 months) software project.
Collaboration: Engage with project stakeholders, including developers and project managers, to gather essential information for documentation.
Quick Turnaround: Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality documentation within the project's timeframe.
Content Updates: Ensure that documentation is kept up-to-date with any changes in software features and functionalities.
Feedback Incorporation: Collaborate with project teams to incorporate feedback and revisions into the documentation.
Consistency: Ensure consistency and adherence to style guides and branding in all written materials. Work with graphic designers to incorporate visual elements into documentation when needed.
Quality Checks: Conduct quality checks to identify and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, and technical content.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in short-term or project-based roles.
Solid understanding of software development processes and technologies.
Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality documentation within tight deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in documentation tools and version control systems.
Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly grasp technical concepts.
This is a Remote/Telecommute position on a contract basis.
