"Need strong technical Writing experience
Location: Rockville, MD - Remote but occasional visit is required. DMV areas candidate preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Creation:
• Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather information and insights.
• Write, edit, and format technical documentation for .Net/.Net Core SQL Server applications, including user manuals, API documentation, installation guides, and release notes.
• Translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
2. Content Management:
• Organize and maintain a structured documentation repository, ensuring accuracy, version control, and accessibility.
• Regularly update documentation to reflect software changes, enhancements, and new features.
3. User Assistance:
• Develop tutorials, how-to guides, and troubleshooting resources to assist users in effectively utilizing our software applications.
• Provide guidance on best practices and usage scenarios through examples and practical explanations.
4. Quality Assurance:
• Review and edit documentation for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to established standards.
• Conduct usability testing of documentation to ensure its effectiveness and user-friendliness.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and contribute to the overall improvement of documentation quality.
• Communicate with development teams to understand technical details and ensure accurate representation in the documentation.
Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience of 7-8 years as a Technical Writer, with a focus on documenting .Net/.Net Core and SQL Server applications.
• Solid understanding of .Net, .Net Core, SQL Server technologies, and software development concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information.
• Proficiency in creating documentation using tools such as Microsoft Word, Markdown, or other relevant documentation platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence) is a plus.
