Student Correspondents

New Posted 28 June 2023 | Remote | Teen Vogue

Young voters helped determine the outcome of the 2022 midterms by turning out in force in key states, and Millennials and Gen-Z will be close to half of the voting-age population in 2024. To cover the 2024 election cycle, Teen Vogue is looking for student journalist correspondents in some of the key states that will determine the presidency and control of Congress: Florida, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

WHO YOU ARE: A college student or grad student (J school students are welcome!) with at least 6 months of experience writing about politics or general news for a college publication.

WHAT YOU'LL DO: You will pitch semi-regular reported stories pegged to the elections, and also receive assignments on news stories relevant to your geographic area. We want to hear what your fellow students are saying about the presidential candidates and about important local races. We want to know about barriers to voting access affecting young people. Pitch us stories about on-campus organizing and youth-led protests at your state legislatures.

MORE DETAILS: This opportunity will last from February-December 2024, and contributors will be compensated at standard freelance rates for each piece they submit.

DEADLINE: All applications should be submitted by Friday July 7.
