News Anchor/Reporter

The Ohio News Network, a subsidiary of TEGNA, is an award-winning statewide radio news network based in Columbus that provides news, weather and sports to more than 70 affiliate radio stations across the state of Ohio. We are looking for a News Anchor/Reporter to join our team.

Responsibilities:

Gather news stories and audio from affiliated news organizations, phone and on-site interviews for radio newscasts and affiliate usage.
Write and produce hourly newscasts and a short daily podcast.
Assist with story ideas and voice wraps for affiliate usage and update throughout the day.
Monitor affiliated news organizations for breaking and developing stories.
Balance stories from different areas of the state.
Assist with conducting long form interviews for a weekly public affairs program and the ability to host it.
A minimum of 3 years on-air experience in a radio newsroom.
Strong sense for news and knowledge of the state of Ohio.
The ability to use strong judgement in news writing, story and audio selection.
A strong, polished news delivery.
Working knowledge of digital editing, radio automation and web delivered programming.
A self starter and team player who is able to work unsupervised and is willing to work various hours and shifts including nights, weekends and holidays as assigned.
The ability to work on deadline in a sometimes fast paced environment.
