Identify and write a variety of speeches, talking points, scripts and communications that position TVA’s leaders as innovative thought leaders in the industry and beyond. Speeches and all related communications should inspire and engage audiences while driving positive brand perceptions.

Principal Accountabilities:

All Functional Areas

1. Exhibits integrity, respect and authenticity in all interactions internal or external to TVA Communications and in performance of assigned duties.

2. Demonstrates strong collaboration, open-mindedness and partnership with teammates within and outside the TVA Communications organization.

3. Enhances and protects the TVA reputation and brand; builds understanding and support for the agency’s long-term strategy and enterprise priorities.

4. Accountable for modeling leadership behaviors, consistently delivering high-quality results and managing complex communications issues and projects for the agency.

5. Develops a deep knowledge and understanding of TVA business development initiatives, projects, processes and goals.

6. Collaborative style and comfort in coaching leaders on enhancements to the delivery of speeches and presentations.

7. Forges strong relationships with the Office of the CEO, Board of Directors, Enterprise Leadership Team, subject matter experts, leaders and stakeholders to develop human-centered and relationship-building rhetoric that will resonate with audiences.

8. Attuned to and able to adapt quickly to shifting opinion, trending topics and industry news to stay out in front of issues in a proactive, strategic and thoughtful way.

9. Advises leaders on the development and implementation of integrated, effective strategic communications plans that build organizational capability and shape the culture in support of achieving enterprise strategic objectives.

10. Creates, develops and executes communications strategies, plans and approaches to deliver effective and quality communications.

11. Optimizes content to best meet the specific needs of various content channels and audiences.

12. Fosters a culture of accountability, trust, collaboration, recognition, development and results among the team at all levels consistent with the short- and long-term objectives of the organization.

13. Collaborates with and supports key stakeholders to provide communications insights and influence business- critical communications decisions.

14. Advocates for best practices in strategic communications, brand journalism and content marketing.

15. Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization, and the Public Information organization in particular, in accordance with Emergency Plan procedures. Supports on-call rotation for after-hours needs. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
