Newsletter Editor

Texas Monthly is seeking an experienced and passionate newsletter editor to join our editorial team. As newsletter editor, you will produce and manage our editorial newsletters, which currently consist of one daily email, two weekly emails, and three topic-based emails, each of which goes out every other week. In addition to writing, curating, and building these newsletters, you will create, maintain, and update various ongoing automations, including our evergreen Welcome to Texas email series as well as nurture campaigns for new subscribers and newsletter readers. Tracking and analyzing email performance data is integral to this role, and you will log key takeaways each month while using your learnings to continually improve the existing newsletter portfolio as well as launch new newsletters. In addition to collaborating with editors on story promotion efforts, you will work closely with the digital product, audience development, marketing, and advertising teams. This role reports to the senior engagement editor. Compensation is competitive and negotiable. While preference will be given to candidates who are based in, or willing to relocate to, Austin, remote candidates who are based elsewhere in Texas or who are located outside the state but have strong Texas knowledge and ties will be considered.
