The independent, family-owned Albuquerque Journal -- New Mexico’s leading news source -- is seeking a self-starting investigative reporter to join its team of talented, motivated journalists who listen to and report on our multi-cultural community for our print and digital products. Applicants should provide clips that demonstrate the ability to deep dive into complex issues of importance to the public such as crime, health, border issues, law or education; and stories holding those in power accountable, enforcing transparency or exposing corruption. Examples may include follow-ups and reaction stories. The reporter will work with the editor, managing editor and a longtime Journal investigative reporter to identify potential stories, research them and produce clear, well-written investigative stories for publication. While the primary focus will be on content requiring long- and short-term research, the reporter may be called on to contribute to breaking or major news.
