Sports and Recreation Reporter

The Astorian, one of the Pacific Northwest’s best small newspapers, has an opening for a sports and recreation reporter. We're looking for a creative writer to produce compelling sports news and features. Located in picturesque Astoria, Oregon, near the junction of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean, The Astorian is a small town newspaper with a global outlook. A successful candidate will write news and features focused on local high school sports, as well as recreation opportunities in the North Coast region, such as fishing, hunting, kayaking and more.

The reporter will also contribute content for triannual sports and outdoors guides produced by The Astorian.
