Data Journalism Fellow

The Baltimore Banner is looking for a curious and creative Data Journalism Fellow for the fall semester.

We are looking for an innovative thinker who can wrangle data into stories, charts, and interactive features and experiment with new technologies and trends. This part-time, paid position will work as part of our award-winning data team to make sense of Maryland through the analysis of data. The fellow will be expected to identify trends and report their own stories as well as work with other reporters in the newsroom as part of larger projects. We are open to many different types of data expertise. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for their work and have a clear vision for what they hope to accomplish in this temporary position. Journalism experience is a big plus but not a requirement.

This fellowship runs for a period of 10 weeks, commencing in early September and concluding prior to the onset of final exams. The selected candidate will be anticipated to dedicate 20 hours each week to the role.
