In this role, you will work closely with our editors and reporters to optimize content, curate our website for an exceptional reader experience, and support content distribution through newsletters and social media platforms. Responsibilities:
Curate the home page of The Baltimore Banner website, carefully selecting and organizing content to drive engagement with subscribers and new audiences
Collaborate closely with reporters and editors to incorporate multimedia elements such as photos, graphics, and videos into stories, enhancing engagement for online readers and viewers
Assist in the distribution of content through newsletters, alerts, and various social media platforms, utilizing effective strategies to reach and expand our audience
Work collaboratively with reporters and editors to brainstorm, envision, and create engaging digital content that aligns with our brand and audience preferences
Prioritize accessibility, usability, and future-friendly web standards in all aspects of digital content creation and curation
Stay informed about the latest industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative approaches into digital content strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and seamless integration of digital content initiatives
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of digital content and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digital or web production role, preferably within a publisher or news outlet environment.
Proficiency in using content management systems and familiarity with newsroom workflow tools to effectively manage digital content.
Experience working with visual editing, design, and data visualization software such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flourish, and Datawrapper.
Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy and a natural curiosity that drives continuous learning and professional development.
Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to collaborate effectively with colleagues from various departments.
Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling you to give and receive constructive feedback in a respectful manner.
