The Baltimore Banner is hiring a sports social media producer responsible for working with the audience director to implement a solid social media strategy that attracts readers to our sports coverage. This person will also engage readers in discussions about current sports trends, cultural moments and solicit questions and story ideas and generally keep up with what’s on the minds of Banner subscribers and what they want to see us cover. The sports social media producer should be comfortable using analytics to see what drives readers to our sites to understand their needs for engagement purposes. They will work with the design team on illustrations, graphics and other visual storytelling needs. They will stay on top of the latest social media trends and incorporate them into story coverage when plausible. The ideal candidates are collaborative, ambitious, and willing to experiment with storytelling in multiple forms on many platforms.
