Baltimore Sun Media is actively recruiting a dynamic and adaptable reporter with a passion for community-driven news and a desire to grow as a journalist. We are seeking a reporter to write daily and enterprise stories serving the interests of our local readership. Our reporters are expected to engage with community members, leverage social media for story leads and consistently craft engaging narratives for both online and print platforms.

What you will do:

Manage multiple assignments and craft content that captivates readers

Demonstrates exceptional reporting and writing abilities to deliver precise content for our websites and publications; this would require the skill to convey intricate stories with context and perspective

Build trust within a diverse network of sources

Actively shares news, engages with, and grows a network of followers on social media to promote content and spark community discussion

Cultivates sources and resources, generates story concepts, and meets deadlines, all while prioritizing balanced reporting and upholding high ethical standards

What you will bring:

Hold at least a bachelor's degree and some professional reporting experience

Exhibit outstanding communication skills, demonstrate initiative and exercise good news judgment

Capable of managing daily, short-term, and long-term assignments simultaneously

Proficient in digital photography and video creation, with relevant experience

Holds a valid driver’s license and possesses reliable transportation
