Media Relations Senior Account Executive or Account Supervisor, Financial/Professional Services

The Bliss Group is seeking a collaborative, results-driven Media Relations Specialist to join our award-winning, creative, smart, and kind team. Our ideal candidate comes in the door with a roster of strong reporter relationships in the financial services and/or professional services sectors—plus the creativity and persistence to build new relationships and help Bliss account teams secure media opportunities for our clients. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Counseling and winning the trust of clients, colleagues, and journalists-
- Showing the ability to pivot and problem-solve, when roadblocks occur
- Juggling and prioritizing media priorities across an array of client teams
- Identifying media trends, hooks, and news angles, and flagging them to clients and colleagues
- Strategizing, developing, directing, and executing successful media relations campaigns for our clients
- Expanding media relationships for Bliss and its clients with key journalists and producers in the broadcast, print, and online space, and strengthening our team’s connections with industry influencers
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of the journalism and media business landscapes
- Writing effective, compelling pitches, press releases, and media assets
- Contributing to the development and cultivation of the firm’s media relations department, and helping to expand the firm’s award-winning track record for media relations expertise
- Coaching teammates on media relations best practices and being a champion for industry-leading strategies, tactics, and technology
Motivate and inspire client teams to achieve media outcomes that advance business goals
Qualifications:
- 3-4+ years of relevant media relations experience required
- Able to grasp and explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences
- Flexible approach; able to prioritize multiple assignments, while being adaptable to changing client and team needs and priorities
- Thrives in a highly collaborative and client-service driven environment
- Works effectively within a team, demonstrating excellent coordination, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Possesses intellectual curiosity, a passion for learning

- Experience shaping national and local broadcast opportunities
- Experience securing CEO-profiles and company feature
