Though initially created to serve the residents of Chestnut Hill, the Local’s scope has expanded to serve Northwest Philadelphia. It provides relevant, consistent and important information across platforms and strategic initiatives including community engagement activities, collaborations, award-winning journalism, geographically-specific digital content, newsletters and a print newspaper.

Position:

Environmental issues are a critical concern for communities in Northwest Philadelphia encompassing the Wissahickon watershed and Wissahickon Valley Park. The environment reporter investigates the impacts of climate change and other environmental stressors on the region's neighborhoods, explores how global environmental issues manifest locally, and writes hyperlocal stories about initiatives and individuals that address these challenges.

Salary and Benefits:
$48,000
