An outstanding journalism tradition. An award-winning team. The opportunity to grow.
The News-Gazette offers all of those qualities as we look for an energetic, motivated, passionate journalist to join our reporting team.
We are looking for a journalist to cover Randolph County based out of our office in Winchester, Indiana.
The reporter we hire will work as part of our team that publishes four newspapers in three counties in east central Indiana. You will get experience in a wide variety of reporting, including local government, breaking news, cops/courts, education and features.
We are looking for someone who has shown a passion for journalism through their efforts with professional work, internships or their college newspaper. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for young journalists to learn and grow. Former staffers have moved on to jobs with the Associated Press, Indianapolis Business Journal, South Bend Tribune and St. Louis Business Journal, among others.
Our company has a long tradition of journalism excellence with our flagship daily paper, The Commercial Review (Portland), consistently performing as one of the top daily newspapers in its division for general excellence in the Hoosier State Press Association contest for the last decade and a half. In May, we expanded with the purchases of The News-Gazette and The News Times (Hartford City) and are working to expand our award-winning tradition.
Send resume and three examples of your work to editor and publisher Ray Cooney at r.cooney@thecr.com. The deadline to apply is March 8.
