Freelance Writer

The Cool Down is looking for a freelance writer to create web articles and occasional social copy.

Responsibilities:

Research and write web articles and social copy according to TCD’s editorial style
Handle 3-5+ quick-turn assignments per weekday on topics ranging from climate news and technology to plant-based food and pop culture moments
Explain complicated topics in simplified, accessible terms to a broad audience
Work under deadlines and submit articles for publication on time

Qualifications:

At least one year of copywriting experience at a credible media outlet or publication
A strong understanding of and commitment to journalistic standards and integrity
Passionate about climate space a huge plus
Remote position

Rate: $35 – $45 / article (300 – 500 words)
