The Daily Hampshire Gazette is seeking a full-time sports reporter to be part of a hard-working team focused on covering the local sports scene of Hampshire County. Our focus is primarily on community sporting events, with our area high schools at the forefront, as well as the various local colleges and universities, headlined by the University of Massachusetts — a Division 1 institution. The sports reporter will be expected to write game stories and regular features covering a wide variety of subjects. We're looking for creativity and a reporter who will be bold pitching original story ideas and producing compelling articles that matter to readers. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment requiring strong multi-tasking skills. Experience with photography and video is a plus.
The Gazette is one of the nation’s oldest local news operations. Founded in 1786, it has been named New England Newspaper of the Year in its circulation class for print and web three times in the past decade.
